Meet Jeannine Parker

Hi, I’m Jeannine. I’m a pediatrician, a mom, and the person behind Tiny Tummy Recipes.

For the past five years, I’ve sat across from parents who ask me the same question in a hundred different ways: “Am I doing this right?” They aren’t asking about a diagnosis. They’re asking about dinner. A new food gets refused, a plate comes back untouched, and a tired parent wonders what they did wrong.

I’ve been that parent too. The first time my little one pushed away a spoonful of sweet potato and looked at me like I’d betrayed her, I laughed, and then I quietly panicked. I had the medical training and the textbooks, and I still stood in my kitchen at 6 p.m. wondering what to make.

That moment taught me something no training could. Knowing what children need and getting it onto a plate on a busy Tuesday are two very different skills. This site is where I bring both together.

Why Tiny Tummy Recipes exists

I started it to give parents what I wish I’d had: food ideas I’d happily serve at my own table, shaped by what I know about how children grow, and written for real life. Every recipe here is simple enough for a weeknight and made with ingredients you probably already own. If it needs a special trip or a special gadget, it doesn’t belong here.

How I think about feeding children

  • Pressure doesn’t help. Children eat better when mealtimes feel calm. A refused food isn’t a failure, and it often takes many tries before it’s accepted.
  • Safety comes first. Where a food needs special care for little eaters, I tell you plainly.
  • Good enough is good enough. One balanced week matters more than one perfect meal.
  • Your child is not a textbook. Use my ideas as a starting point, then trust what you see at your own table.

A note on my role

I’m a pediatrician, but I’m not your child’s pediatrician. What you read here is general guidance and cooking inspiration, not personal medical advice. For allergies, feeding difficulties, or any concern about your child’s growth, please talk to your own doctor.
